About Latvia

Latvia is a country on the Baltic Sea between Lithuania and Estonia. Its landscape is marked by wide beaches as well as dense, sprawling forests. Latvia’s capital is Riga, home to notable wooden and art nouveau architecture, a vast Central Market and a medieval Old Town with St. Peter’s Church. Riga’s museums include the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum, showcasing local crafts, food and music.

Entry Requirements

For UG, HSC (12th) with minimum 55% marks and for PG, First Degree With Minimum 65% Marks in related Steam.

Work while you Study:

While studying in Lithuania, UG students allowed to work 20 hours per week and they can earn upto €400 to €600 per week whereas PG students are allowed to work 40 hour a week and they can earn upto €600 to €800 per week.

Living Cost:

The cost of living in Latvia is quite reasonable and it is suitable for the students. The dormitories or student hostel costs between 70 to 120 Euros. The meals cost 5 to 9 Euros per meal. The transportation costs are affordable too as the taxi would cost 7 to 15 Euros.

Application Procedure

Fill the Latvian visa online application form. Your passport and copies of your previous visas – valid for at least 3 months beyond return date – are required. Your passport must have at least two blank pages. Europe Travel insurance confirmation of minimum 30,000 € coverage within Latvia and the entire Schengen zone.

Visa Application

of the LithuInternational students who are from third countries (or not from Europe) who are enrolled into education institutions accredited in Latvia can apply for the long stay visa at the diplomatic and consular representations of Latvia in the third countries. After receiving a long stay visa (valid for 90 days), upon entering Latvia, students are subjected to apply for a residence permit at the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia (OCMA).
